Om River
Om ((ロシア語:Омь)) is a river in the south of the Western Siberian plains in Russia. It is about long, flowing into the major Irtysh River. It rises in the Vasyugan Swamp at the border of Novosibirsk and Omsk oblasts. The name is probably from the word ''om'' "quiet" in the language of the Baraba Tatars.〔E.M. Pospelov, ''Geograficheskie nazvaniya mira'' (Moscow, 1998), p. 310.〕 The city of Omsk is situated at the confluence of Om and Irtysh. == References == 〔
